Bruno Dose Pitcher — French Mid-Century Studio Ceramic

French Mid-Century · c. 1950s

Condition
Excellent — no chips, cracks or restorations

A striking studio ceramic pitcher by Bruno Dose of Villers-Cotterêts, France, produced as part of his sought-after registered series of mid-century forms (Modèle Déposé, ref. 618). The asymmetric biomorphic body — sculpted as much as thrown — flares into a tall pointed spout lined with a vivid vermilion interior glaze, framed by a deep rust-edged rim that gives the piece its signature drama. Two pierced loop handles flow into the body, decorated with fine hand-painted sgraffito botanical sprays in soft sepia. A confident, sculptural object that bridges French studio pottery and Italian mid-century modernism. Signed and stamped to the underside: '618 · Modèle Déposé · Bruno Dose · Villers-Cotterêts'. 35 × 25 × 18 cm.
